Savoring Every Last Second

If you live around here, you know that this fall has been unusually nice. Joey had the car today and I needed a couple of things from the store, so I decided it was the perfect excuse to get us all some fresh air. I loaded the kids up in our new AWESOME stroller (seriously, this thing is amazing...I am tempted to go on and on about it, but unless you're really interested I'll just leave it for now) and began the 1.2-mile walk to Cub, most of which is uphill. I'm pretty sure I went at the pace of an 80-year-old, but when you're pregnant and pushing two toddlers who are almost 30 lbs a piece, I don't think there is any other way. Thankfully the kids are not old enough to ask fabulous kid questions like, "Mom, why are you going so slow?!" or, "Are we there yet?" That day will come soon enough!

Anyway, we did make it and luckily for us all, Cub offers kids a free apple or cookie. I choose the apple every time. Before you go on thinking that I'm some sort of amazing mom who only feeds her kids healthy things, let me give it to you straight. I choose the apples because it takes them FOR-EV-ER to eat, which means I can continue shopping (and in this case walking back home) without much fussing. The nutrition is just an added bonus.

When we got back home I was ready to sit on my butt. However, after being chauffeured around for the past hour, Carson and Keira were ready to move. They love to run around outside, push brooms, check the mail, hunt bugs and if you're Carson, you especially like to pick up bugs, squeeze them tight and bring them to me. Yum!

After running around for awhile they noticed that Mommy was doing something that they hadn't yet done outside today: sit in a chair. I gave up my seat, grabbed a second chair and in complete toddler fashion, they sat and took in the experience for a whole 10 seconds, which was just long enough for me to grab this picture of them. I love them in their little fleece suits!

What kind of stroller? :-)

Lisa - it is a Valco Baby Tri Mode EX Twin stoller, with the Joey seat. Essentially it is a double jogging stroller that has an attachment for a third seat.

Here is a picture of it:

We were able to find one used and I'm in love! We had just the basic Graco duo glide prior to this and there is simply no comparison. I can actually push this one without breaking a sweat and having the kids side by side is great! They actually have room to strech out their legs now. No more kicking each other in the head! There is lots to love about the stroller and the demo video from the Valco Baby website is what really sold me on it. (Well done Valco marketing people! I'm a total sucker for your product) If you are one to drool over strollers (never ever thought I would care, yet here I am...) watch the demo and be delighted.

Okay, I'll stop the love-fest for now. :)

I like the photo of them in their fleece enjoying their chairs for 10 seconds.
I'm glad you filled us in on the stroller 'cause I was going to ask. Very cool.

WAY TO GO ON GETTING THE STROLLER!!! Perhaps I can convince you to go on one of my walks again now? I believe I have taken you on 2 very hilly walks to date - once when you were pregs with the twins and once with your latest bundle of joy. Why are you still friends with me?! Regardless, enjoy the stroller. :)

Kate - I'm definitely up for one of your walks again, though I'm looking forward to doing one in warmer weather without a belly. :)
