Sometimes when I see a scrap of leftover food on the floor, especially dry foods like Cheerios, I've been known to just let it be for a bit, knowing that the odds of one of my little crawlers making his or her way to the food for a post-meal snack are pretty decent.
I'm obsessed with toy sets being complete and it drives me crazy to lose toys or pieces of toys. We have a baby basketball hoop that has three balls. A few times throughout the day I make sure all three balls are within sight. If they aren't in sight, I have to look for them, at least for a minute. If I can't find them at the end of the day, it just eats at my brain. Also, when I pick up toys at the end of the day I often stack the rings, line up the basketballs, put the boulder in the mini dump truck, etc. It gives me great peace to know that everything is here and in its place. Also, this past summer we lost a toy on a long walk. When I realized this I re-walked the same long route that night and tried to find them. I never did and to this day, it annoys me. I know, I have issues. I'm hoping this gets better as the kids get older...
I let my kids sit on the counter when I'm working in kitchen. They love it and as long as they are not getting into things or moving around I let them stay. Translation: they usually last a whole 2 minutes, if they are lucky.
Stains drive me crazy. Although I am getting a little better with this one, I'm obsessed with removing stains from Carson and Keira's clothing. When they were really little it was easy, but now that they eat solids, it is much more difficult. I have a small stack of clothes that are stained that I just can't put away until I've tried harder to get the stains out. It's rather silly, as they are babies and not fashion models, but putting them in a stained outfit is like putting myself in a stained outfit. Who wants to wear that?
I hate putting the kids in their snowsuits. Those baby carrier covers were so nice. I miss them dearly! At the start of winter I was really good about putting them in their suits. Now, it has to be REALLY cold in order for me to do it. I usually just make sure they've got a good sweatshirt, shoes and a hat on, and once they are in the car I throw a giant wool blanket over them. We have an attached garage so they are rarely exposed to the elements for more than 30 seconds, so dressing them fully hardly seems worth the effort. I'm also known to skip wearing a jacket myself so we match... :)
Well, I think that's enough dirt on me for now. Let the judging begin! ;)

Ha! Your momfessions posts are my favorites! I too skip wearing a coat when I think I have underdressed my children. I feel guilty being toasty warm in my winter coat while they only have one extra layer on. I CAN'T WAIT for summer!
Same here with the food on the floor - I only just recently stopped letting Arianna eat food off the floor, like when she turned two.
I like to make sure the toys aren't lost.
And, it's MUCH safer to put the kids in the car the way you're doing it. That's actually recommended by the car seat people. You can get the straps much tighter that way! Good job! :)
Oooo I leave food on my floor too! Drives Nathan crazy though! :)
I got tired of taking Derek's winter jacket off of him every time he needed to get into the carseat (like Stephanie said, it's not safe to put them in there with all the padding) so I just put a fleece on him and call it good. He wears a hat and mittens and has a blanket in the car so I don't feel too bad.
Those two are getting so big! (And they've always been cute!)
I am so with you on the toys... I've got the same basketball hoop from Christmas and I know exactly what your talking about trying to keep tabs on all three balls throughout the day. I've seriously gone crazy before trying to find one of them.
And course EVERYONE seems to love playing with them, kids and adults.

I'm with you (or at least I was in a much bigger way) on the stains and the toys. I still put the toys up when I'm missing pieces and don't let anyone play with them until they're complete. I had puzzles with missing pieces for over 8 years once and when we moved and I still couldn't find the pieces I finally threw them away--but it was still hard! The game Memory was created to drive me crazy. I've matched and rematched those pieces until I could probably do it in my sleep. Right now we're missing one of the cylinders in the wood toy with the hammer and I have the toy on the counter...waiting.
I let the stains thing go awhile back. Not that I like them, but I finally had to raise the white flag. I find I tend towards black and navy blue to avoid them, but I don't like all the dark colors so I just try to accept the fact that the bright shirts will not last but will give me a lot of pleasure in their short lifetime! I also decided that, for myself, a stained left shoulder was part of my mom-badge-of-courage. I've earned it! However, after a quarter of a century I'm looking forward to generating a stain-free wardrobe...at least for special occasions!
Totally understand organizing toys! On nights that I work, Corey has Caedmon clean up completely by himself, which means the toys are just thrown on the shelves where the toys go in no particular order. Drives me nuts!
I heard another mother say the same thing about putting her kids in stained clothes. I've never cared too much...poor kids.:/ Laundry's enough work without having to scrub for stains!:)
